Vidalia onion appetizer

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
1 large Onions, sweet
½ cup Water
4 tablespoons Sugar
4 tablespoons Vinegar
4 tablespoons Mayonnaise, eggless
½ teaspoon Salt, celery

Thinly slice onions. Combine onions, water, sugar, and vinegar; marinate overnight.

Before serving, drain and pat dry. Toss with mayonnaise and salt.

Serve on party rye.
