Vidalia onion appetizer

Ingredients

1largeOnions, sweet
½cupWater
4tablespoonsSugar
4tablespoonsVinegar
4tablespoonsMayonnaise, eggless
½teaspoonSalt, celery

Directions

Thinly slice onions. Combine onions, water, sugar, and vinegar; marinate overnight.

Before serving, drain and pat dry. Toss with mayonnaise and salt.

Serve on party rye.
