Vidalia onion appetizer

Ingredients

| 1 | large | Onions, sweet |
| ½ | cup | Water |
| 4 | tablespoons | Sugar |
| 4 | tablespoons | Vinegar |
| 4 | tablespoons | Mayonnaise, eggless |
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt, celery |
Directions
Thinly slice onions. Combine onions, water, sugar, and vinegar; marinate overnight.
Before serving, drain and pat dry. Toss with mayonnaise and salt.
Serve on party rye.
