Taste of home taco bake

Ingredients

1 | pounds | Ground beef |
1 | small | Onion; chopped |
¾ | cup | Water |
1 | pack | Taco seasoning; (1-1/4 oz.) |
1 | can | Tomato sauce; (15-oz.) |
8 | ounces | Shell macaroni; cooked and drained |
1 | can | Chopped green chilies; (4-oz.) |
2 | cups | Cheddar cheese; shredded |
Directions
In a skillet, brown ground beef and onion over medium heat; drain. Add the water, taco seasoning and tomato sauce; mix. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir in macaroni, chilies and 1-½ cups of cheese. Pour into a greased 1-½-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through. Source: Taste of Home: Collector's Edition. Lynn's notes: Made this 9-10-97, used ½ cup water and added a can of corn. It filled a 2 quart casserole plus a small (1- serving) casserole. Very good dinner--served it with Mixed Vegetable Salad.
