Sweet relish

Measure Ingredient
4 cups Ground onion
4 cups Ground cabbage
12 Green peppers; ground
6 Red peppers; ground
½ cup Salt
6 cups Sugar
2 tablespoons Mustard seed
1 tablespoon Celery seed
1½ teaspoon Turmeric
4 cups Vinegar
2 cups Water

This is one of my Grandmother's recipies that survived. It is about 100 years old.

Place veg in large kettle. Pour salt over. Add enough water to cover. Let stand overnight. Drain and cover with water and drain again. Mix remaining ingredients . Simmer 15 min. Pack in nars. Water bath for 10 min.
