1cupDry Split Peas
1Lime,juice and rind
2teaspoonsSalt
¼teaspoonNutmeg
¼teaspoonTurmeric
16ouncesWhole Kernel Corn,drained
16ouncesCarrots,drained

Directions

In a dutch oven, brown beef with bacon. Add onion and 2 cups water.

Simmer 1 hour. Add 4 cups of water, split peas, lime juice and rind, salt, nutmeg and turmeric. Simmer one hour more. Add corn and carrots. Heat therough, serve.
