Spiced lemonade

Yield: 1 servings

Measure Ingredient
1 each Lemon
2 cups Water
1 cup Sugar
4 eaches Whole allspice
4 eaches Whole cloves
1 each Cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon Chopped crystallized ginger
1 pinch Grated nutmeg
1 cup Fresh lemon juice;(8lemons)
1 cup Club soda; chilled

Remove rind in pieces from lemon with swivel bladed veggie peeler; avoid any bitter white pith.

Combine water, sugar, lemon rind, allspice, cloves, cinnamon stick, crystallized ginger and nutmeg in small saucepan. Bring to simmer; simmer covered 20 mins. Strain into pitcher and chill; discard solids.

To serve, stir in lemon juice and club soda. Serve over crushed ice.

Makes 4 servings.
