Spanish bean soup

Ingredients

2packsSpanish bean soup mix
2largesPotatoes; diced
1smallOnion; chopped
1poundsAll meat stew; (cut in small pieces)
1poundsHam hocks
1poundsSmoked sausage; (cut in small pieces)
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Soak beans overnight (8 hours), drain and rinse. Combine all ingredients in large pot, add seasoning from soup mix and 1½ to 2 quarts water. Bring to boil, lower heat to low and cook for at least 3 to 4 hours (until beans are tender). May be cooked in crock-pot or slow cooker. Put on in morning, ready for supper.
