Soft ginger cookies

Measure Ingredient
12 cups Flour
4 cups Molasses
2 cups Shortening
2 cups Milk; sour
2 teaspoons Baking soda
2 tablespoons Ginger
2 tablespoons Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Salt
2 eaches Eggs; beaten

Sift flour in pan, form a well in center. Add shortening, molasses.

sour milk in which soda has been dissolved. Add spices, salt and egg.

Mix quickly to a smooth soft dough. Bake in moderate oven. This recipe is more than 100 years old.

Note: Moderate oven is 350 - 400 F.
