Salsa de jitomate

Ingredients

| 1 | each | medium onion, fine chopped |
| 2 | eaches | cloves garlic, chopped |
| 3 | eaches | tomatoes, peeled and seeded |
| ½ | teaspoon | sugar |
| 2 | eaches | chiles serranos, chopped |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt |
| 1 | tablespoon | freshly ground black pepper |
| 1 | tablespoon | cilantro, chopped |
Directions
Fry the onions and garlic until limp. Add remaining ingredients except cilantro and cook gently, 15 minutes. Add cilantro and cook 1-2 minutes more. Serve hot or cold. Makes 2 cups.
