Salsa de jitomate

Ingredients

1eachmedium onion, fine chopped
2eachescloves garlic, chopped
3eachestomatoes, peeled and seeded
½teaspoonsugar
2eacheschiles serranos, chopped
1teaspoonsalt
1tablespoonfreshly ground black pepper
1tablespooncilantro, chopped

Directions

Fry the onions and garlic until limp. Add remaining ingredients except cilantro and cook gently, 15 minutes. Add cilantro and cook 1-2 minutes more. Serve hot or cold. Makes 2 cups.
