Rye cakes

Measure Ingredient
3 cups Rye meal
1 teaspoon Salt
1½ cup Milk, sour
1 teaspoon Soda
⅓ cup Molasses
2 eaches Egg

Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl and gradually stir in the milk.

Add the beaten eggs and molasses and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls into hot fat and fry until brown. Drain on brown paper.
