1 | cup | Sliced 1/2\" celery |
¼ | cup | Chopped onion |
⅓ | cup | Butter or margarine, melted |
2 | eaches | Tb reserved spiced apple |
¼ | cup | Reserved spiced apple juice |
2 | eaches | Tb light corn syrup juice or water |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
pinch | Pepper | |
pinch | Allspice | |
4-5 lb whole roasting chicken | ||

STUFFING
GLAZE
Heat oven to 350~. Cut 5 spiced apple rings into eights; reserve remaining apple rings. Combine with remaining stuffing ingredients.
Stuff chicken; secure to body of chicken. Place on rack in roasting pan. In saucepan, combine glaze ingredients. Cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Spoon glaze over chicken. Bake, basting occasionally, for 1 hour. If needed, add ¼ cup water to basting juices. Loosley cover chicken with aluminum foil. Continue baking, basting occasionally, for 1-1½ hours or until chicken is fork tender. Garnish with reserved apple rings.
