Raisin crunch bars

Ingredients

2½ | cup | Raisins |
½ | cup | Sugar |
2 | tablespoons | Cornstarch |
1½ | cup | Water |
3 | tablespoons | Lemon juice |
¾ | cup | Butter |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
1½ | cup | Rolled oats |
1 | cup | Brown sugar |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
½ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
1¾ | cup | Flour |
Directions
Combine raisins, sugar, cornstarch, water and lemon juice in a pan.
Cook over low heat until thick; let cool. Combine all other ingredients and mix. Press ⅔ of mixture into a 10 x 13" pan. Pour raisin mixture over layer. Cover with remaining dry mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Frost while warm with confection icing. Confection Icing: 2 c confectionary sugar, sifted. Add cream or milk for spreading consistency, 1 tsp vanilla. Mix well If you like raisin squares, but don't want to bother with the crust, you will love this recipe. Servings are vague. Depends on how you cut the bars.
