An orange-sized tamarind ball | |
1 tablespoon | Jaggery; powdered |
1 teaspoon | Turmeric |
12 | Green chiles; chopped |
4 | Sprigs curry leaves; chopped |
1 | 4" piece ginger; chopped |
Salt; to taste -For Seasoning--- | |
1 teaspoon | Black mustard seeds |
1 teaspoon | Black gram dal |
3 | Red chiles; broken |
4 tablespoons | Oil |
Extract juice from tamarind. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, black gram dal and red chilies. When brown, add green chilies and curry leaves and fry for a couple of minutes. Now add tamarind juice, jaggery, turmeric, salt and ginger. Cook till mixture is thick.
