Prosciutto picnic sandwich

1Unsliced round loaf Italian or saudough bread or 1 focaccia (8 to 10 inches in diameter)
Margarine or butter; soften 5 crisp large lettuce leaves
½poundsProsciutto or salami; sliced
2mediumsTomatoes; sliced
Peppers
4ouncesSliced Swiss cheese
½mediumCucumber; thinly sliced
1largeOnion; sliced
3tablespoonsPrepared mustard

Directions

Cut bread horizontally in half. Spread margarine over bottom half.

Layer lettuce, prosciutto and tomatoes on bottom half. Sprinkle with pepper. Layer cheese, cucumber and onion on tomatoes. Spread mustard over cut side of top half of bread; place on top of sandwich. Secure loaf with toothpicks or small skewers. To serve; cut into 6 wedges.
