Prize winning quick brown bread

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Brown sugar
¼ cup Syrup; maple or molasses
1 teaspoon Salt
1 each Egg
2 cups Sour or buttermilk
2 teaspoons Baking soda
1 cup Flour; white
2 cups Graham flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 tablespoon Shortening; melted

Beat first four ingredients, add soda dissolved in milk. Add flour and baking powder sifted together, then shortening. Bake in 5 x 10 inch greased pan for 1 hour in oven 375 F.
