Polynesian hamburgers

Ingredients

2cupsBreadcrumbs, soft
¼cupOnion; chopped
½cupWater; ice
1teaspoonSalt, seasoned
2mediumsOnions; cut in thick slices
2tablespoonsButter
¼cupSugar, brown; firmly packed
2tablespoonsWater
½teaspoonMustard, dry
¼cupVinegar

Directions

Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, water, and seasoned saut. Shape into 4 patties. Saute onion in butter; remove. Brown hamburgers. Return onion to skillet. Combine remaining ingredients; add to hamburgers. Cover; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 30 minutes.
