Yield: 1 Servings
Measure | Ingredient |
---|---|
4½ cup | Flour |
2¼ teaspoon | Baking powder |
¼ teaspoon | Baking soda |
2½ cup | Sugar |
1¼ cup | Vegetable oil |
½ tablespoon | Salt |
½ cup | Orange zest |
¼ cup | Light corn syrup; Karo |
4 larges | Eggs; beaten |
2½ cup | Water |
1¼ cup | Evaporated milk |
1½ tablespoon | Orange extract |
¼ teaspoon | Orange food coloring |
¼ teaspoon | Yellow food coloring |
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt. In a separate bowl combine eggs, orange zest, vegetable oil, corn syrup, water, evaporated milk, orange extract and food colorings. Add to dry mixture, stirring only until moistened. Pour into 2 well greased loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees F for 50-60 minutes. NOTE The list of ingredients was given to me by the Islander Coffee Shop manager, Roy. He didn't have time to give me the method, sooo, I have developed the method using my Orange Muffins recipe, which uses basically the same ingredients. Test for doneness in the usual way.
