Okra and fresh tomatoes

Ingredients

4cupsOkra; cut into slices
3cupsTomatoes; peeled and chopped
3tablespoonsBacon fat
1mediumOnion; sliced
1Green pepper; diced
Salt and pepper to taste
¼teaspoonSugar

Directions

Prepare okra and tomatoes. Saute onion and pepper in fat, stirring often, until onion is browned. Add remaining ingredients and cook, covered, over medium heat for 30 minutes. Uncover and cook another 5 minutes.
