Measure | Ingredient |

4 cups | Okra; cut into slices |
3 cups | Tomatoes; peeled and chopped |
3 tablespoons | Bacon fat |
1 medium | Onion; sliced |
1 \N | Green pepper; diced |
\N \N | Salt and pepper to taste |
¼ teaspoon | Sugar |
Prepare okra and tomatoes. Saute onion and pepper in fat, stirring often, until onion is browned. Add remaining ingredients and cook, covered, over medium heat for 30 minutes. Uncover and cook another 5 minutes.
