Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
⅔ cup All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Dried sage
1 teaspoon Dried basil
1 teaspoon Seasoned salt
1 each Broiler/fryer chicken, cut up (2 1/2-3 lbs.)
¼ cup Butter or margarine
2 cups Chicken broth

In a shallow bowl, combine flour, sage, basil and seasoning salt; coat chicken. Reserve remaining flour mixture. In a large skillet, melt butter; brown chicken on all sides. Transfer to a slow cooker. Add ¼ cup reserved flour mixture to the skillet (discarding the rest); stir until smooth. When mixture begins to bubble stir in chicken broth and bring to a boil; boil for one minute. Pour over chicken.

Cover and cook on high for 2-2½ hours or until chicken juices run clear. Serves 4. SOURCE:* Reminisce Magazine, Jan/Feb 95 POSTED BY: Jim Bodle 12/94
