Ingredients

| 1½ | pounds | Dried beans -- soaked |
| Overnight | ||
| 5 | cups | Water |
| 1 | medium | Onion |
| 1 | tablespoon | Salt |
| 1 | cup | Brown sugar |
| 2 | tablespoons | Molasses |
| 2 | teaspoons | Dry mustard |
| 1½ | cup | Ketchup |
| ½ | pounds | Bacon -- cut in cubes |
| Water -- to cover | ||
Directions
Soak beans overnight in 5 cups water, then simmer until the skins begin to break. Add remaining ingredients and cover with water.
Cover pan and bake in a pit for 5 to 6 hours.
