Molasses crinkle cookies

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
¾ cup Soft shortening (Crisco) (I use 1 stick softened butter and 1/4 C shortening)
1 cup Brown sugar, firmly packed
1 \N Egg
1 cup Dark molasses
2¼ cup Sifted flour
2 teaspoons Baking soda
¼ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Ground cloves
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ground ginger

Mix thoroughly part "A". Add and mix thoroughly part "B". Chill dough (I mix it the night before). Preheat oven to 375F. Roll dough into walnut-size balls. Dip tops in white sugar. Place sugar-side up on greased cookie sheets. Sprinkle 2-3 drops of water on each for a crackled effect. Bake for about 10-12 minutes til set but not hard.
