Molasses creams

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Shortening
1 each Eggs
½ cup Malasses
2 teaspoons Soda dissolved in 1C Hot h20
2 tablespoons Butter
2 tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ginger
4 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Vanilla
\N \N Powdered sugar



Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg, molasses and soda mixture. Add dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake 7-10 minutes at 350 degrees or until no imprint remains when touched lightly with finger. Do not overbake. Frost when cool.

For icing, melt butter and milk over low heat. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and enough powdered sugar to reach spreading consistency.
