Mincemeat squares

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Rolled oats
1 cup All-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon Baking soda
¼ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Brown sugar
½ cup Shortening
1¼ cup Mincemeat
1 tablespoon Rum

Combine rolled oats, flour, baking soda, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Firmly press half of this mixture into an 8 inch square pan. Spread evenly with mincemeat, flavoured with rum. Top with remaining crumb mixture, packing down firmly with fingers. Bake at 350 F for 25 to 30 minutes.
