|2 \N||Sticks butter or margarine; softened|
|1 cup||Vegetable oil|
|1 cup||Powdered sugar; sifted|
|1 teaspoon||Vanilla extract|
|4½ cup||All purpose flour|
|1 teaspoon||Baking soda|
|1 teaspoon||Cream of tartar|

Combine butter, oil and sugars. Beat well at medium speed. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Combine flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar in a medium bowl. Add to creamed mixture, beating well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
