Linguini with tomato-basil sauce

Ingredients

Minced
3tablespoonsOlive oil
3cupsItalian plum tomatoes --
Coarsely chopped
Salt and pepper -- to taste
18ouncesLinguini -- or other thin
Pasta
1bunchFresh basil leaves -- no
Stems, chopped
12tablespoonsParmesan cheese -- freshly
Grated

Directions

Saute garlic in olive oil until golden, but not brown. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper and simmer over med. heat for 20 min.

Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package. When sauce is done simmering, remove from heat and stir in basil. Toss pasta with sauce and serve. Top with cheese.
