Last minute biscuits

Yield: 1 servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Flour
¼ teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Baking powder
¼ cup Vegetable shortening
⅔ cup Milk
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Favorite dried herb

Directions: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Add shortening and work with mixture using a fork or fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs. Combine the milk, sugar and herbs. Slowly stir in milk mixture using a fork. The mixture should form a soft dough. You may not need to use all of the milk - do not make a sticky dough. Gather up the dough and place on floured surface. Knead gently 8-10 times. Roll out dough to ½” thick. Cut with biscuit or cookie cutter.

Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
