| Quantity | Ingredient | |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | cups | Flour |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 1 | tablespoon | Baking powder |
| ¼ | cup | Vegetable shortening |
| ⅔ | cup | Milk |
| 1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
| 1 | tablespoon | Favorite dried herb |
Directions
Directions: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Add shortening and work with mixture using a fork or fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs. Combine the milk, sugar and herbs. Slowly stir in milk mixture using a fork. The mixture should form a soft dough. You may not need to use all of the milk - do not make a sticky dough. Gather up the dough and place on floured surface. Knead gently 8-10 times. Roll out dough to ½ thick. Cut with biscuit or cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
