| 2 | ounces | Vegetable margarine | 
| 1 | Finely chopped onion | |
| 4 | ounces | Mushrooms; chopped (optional) | 
| 5 | ounces | Rolled oats | 
| 6 | ounces | Finely grated carrot | 
| 5 | ounces | Vegetarian cheese; grated | 
| 1 | Free range egg; beaten | |
| 1 | Clove garlic; crushed (optional) | |
| 1 | tablespoon | Soya sauce | 
| 1 | tablespoon | Tomato sauce or pur‚e | 
| 1 | teaspoon | Basil | 
| Salt and black pepper to taste | ||
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 170øC/325øF/gas mark 3. 
2. Melt the margarine in a pan. Gently cook the onion and mushrooms for 5 minutes. Transfer them to a mixing bowl and add all the other ingredients. 
3. Season to taste with salt and pepper and mix well. Press mixture into a greased, shallow baking tin and bake for 25-30 minutes. 
4. Cut into 20 small squares and serve.
