Herb and sausage orzo

1tablespoonFinely-chopped garlic
1cupOrzo pasta -; (1/2 lb)
1teaspoonSalt
Freshly-ground black pepper; to taste
¼cupAssorted chopped fresh herbs
(such as basil; parsley, and thyme)
cupChicken stock
¼cupChopped smoked sausage
1tablespoonUnsalted butter; softened

Directions

Heat oil in a saucepan and add onions, garlic, orzo, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Stir in herbs and stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Remove pan from heat and stir in sausage and butter. This recipe yields ?? servings.
