Herb & sausage orzo

Measure Ingredient
2.00 tablespoon olive oil
½ cup finely-chopped onion
1.00 tablespoon finely-chopped garlic
1.00 cup orzo pasta -; (1/2 lb)
1.00 teaspoon salt
1 \N freshly-ground black pepper; to taste
¼ cup assorted chopped fresh herbs
1 \N (such as basil; parsley, and thyme)
3½ cup chicken stock
¼ cup chopped smoked sausage
1.00 tablespoon unsalted butter; softened

Heat oil in a saucepan and add onions, garlic, orzo, salt and pepper.

Cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Stir in herbs and stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Remove pan from heat and stir in sausage and butter. This recipe yields ?? servings.
