Hendrickson's mostaccioli

Ingredients

½cupChopped onion
½cupChopped green bell pepper
1teaspoonMinced garlic
1poundsGround beef
3teaspoonsSalt
1teaspoonGround black pepper
1tablespoonChili powder
1can(6-ounce) tomato paste
1can(14.5-ounce) whole tomatoes, chopped or crushed, undrained
1tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
Grated Parmesan or American cheese
4cupsCooked mostaccioli noodles

Directions

~St. Louis Post-Dispatch, July 18, 1994 Combine oil, onion, bell pepper and garlic in a pot; cook about 5 minutes, stirring to keep from burning.

Add ground beef, salt and pepper; simmer until thoroughly cooked. Mash hamburger while cooking until it's in fine pieces.

Stir chili powder into meat. Add tomato paste, 1½ cups water and tomatoes. Let boil 15 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce.

Add sauce to cooked noodles. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Yield: About 6 servings.
