Fresh tomato sauce (#9)

Ingredients

½ | cup | Tomato or vegetable juice |
½ | medium | Red onion, minced |
¼ | cup | Slivered fresh basil leaves |
2 | tablespoons | Olive oil |
1 | each | Clove garlic, minced |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
x | Freshly ground black pepper |
Directions
1. Core the tomatoes; cut into ½-inch chunks. Transfer to a bowl.
2. Toss with the remaining ingredients. Let stand at least 30 minutes, tossing occasionally to blend flavors.
