Deviled oysters i

Measure Ingredient
24 Oysters
½ cup Cracker crumbs, rolled
½ cup Bread crumbs
1 teaspoon Butter, melted
1 tablespoon Butter
1½ ounce Cream
Salt & pepper to taste

Chop oysters finely; put in saucepan with 1 tsp butter and cream.

Season and add rolled cracker crumbs. Simmer five minutes, stirring.

Put in baking dish, sprinkle bread crumbs and bits of butter (1 Tbsp) over the top and bake in moderate oven until rich brown.. Source: FISHES AND FISHING IN LOUISIANA, PUBL 1933 Recipe date: 01/17/33
