Cream cheese pound cake or chocolate pound cake

3Sticks butter, softened
8ouncesCream cheese, softened
3cupsSugar
2teaspoonsVanilla
6Eggs
3cupsCake or all purpose flour
1Dash salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter and cream cheese.

Gradually add sugar, salt and vanilla, beatting well. Alternately add eggs and flour until mixed together thoroughly. Pour batter into a well greased tube pan and bake for 1½ hours.

Note: You can make a chocolate pound cake out of this recipe by substituting ½ cup of cocoa for ½ cup of flour.
