| 1 | medium | Red onion, chopped |
| ½ | cup | Almonds, whole |
| 1 | medium | Apple, chopped |
| 2 | Navel oranges, chopped | |
| 1 | cup | Dry red wine (cabernet sauvignon, merlot, etc.) |
| 1 | cup | Demerara sugar (or opt for light brown or turbinado sugar) |
| 1 | teaspoon | Grated orange peel |
| ½ | teaspoon | Each: allspcice, cinnmon, ginger |
| ¼ | Teapsoon ground clove | |
Directions
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel pot.
Bring to a boil uncovered. Then lower to a simmer and cover for for the remaining cooking time: about 1 hour. The mixture should be thick like a good finished jam or marmalade.
