Cranberry apple conserve

Measure Ingredient
3 cups Cranberries
1 \N Orange
6 \N Apples
1 \N Lemon
1 pack Powdered fruit pectin
1 large Can
5½ cup Sugar
¼ cup Chopped walnuts

Step one: wash cranberries Step two: Peel, core and chop apples Step three: Extract orange and lemon juice; discard seeds. Grind orange and lemon peels with a fine blade. Combine cranberies, apples, orange, lemon and pineapple in kettle. Bring to a boil. Add pectin and bring back to a boil. Step four: Add sugar, stirring constantly, and bring to a boil and boil hard 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir and skim alternately for 5 minutes. Add walnuts. Pour into hot jars and seal. Step five: Cook, label and store Yield: 9 half-pints. Feel free to process this as desired and to translate to more "modern equipment" than a hand grinder, if desired. Ah, the good old days!
