Cornbread waffles

Yield: 8 waffles

Measure Ingredient
1½ cup Cornmeal;
¾ cup All-purpose flour; sifted
2 teaspoons Baking powder
½ teaspoon Soda;
2 tablespoons Sugar;
2 \N Egg yolk;
1½ cup Buttermilk;
4 tablespoons Butter; melted
2 \N Egg whites, beaten

Soft dry ingredients together 3 times. Beat egg yolks and add to dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir in melted butter and then fold in stiffy beaten egg whites. Bake in preheated waffle iron.
