Chocolate filled bon-bons

Yield: 42 servings

Measure Ingredient
¾ cup Shortening
½ cup Sugar
½ teaspoon Baking powder
1 \N Egg
2 teaspoons Vanilla
½ teaspoon Almond extract
1¾ cup Flour
¼ cup Brown sugar
½ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Almonds, chopped (opt)
42 \N Chocolate kisses(hersheys)

Cream shortening,and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs, extracts and beat well. Add flour, baking powder, salt,and nuts. Mix well. From dough into 1 inch balls. Press each ball around a kiss so kiss is completely enclosed. Bake on UNGREASED cookie sheet 12 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE!!!!! Cool on rack. Makes 3½-4 dozen.
