Braised cabbage with apple and caraway seeds

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
2 tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Garlic, minced
1 each Apple, peeled, cored, sliced
1 cup Onion, coarsely sliced
1 each Cabbage Head, shredded
1 tablespoon White Vinegar
1 teaspoon Caraway Seeds
1 each Salt
½ cup Chicken Broth
1 each White Pepper, freshly ground



Melt the butter in a skillet and add the onion and garlic. Cook, stirring, until wilted. Do not brown. Add the cabbage, apple, vinegar, caraway seeds, chicken broth, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, stir, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Uncover and if there is too much liquid, reduce it accordingly. Serves 4.
