Yield: 15 Servings
|2 cups||Finely crushed pretzels|
|⅔ cup||Butter or margarine melted|
|2 cups||Boiling water|
|1 pack||(8-serving size) JELL-O Brand Strawberry Flavor Gelatin|
|1 cup||Cold water|
|1½ teaspoon||Grated lime peel|
|1 pint||Vanilla ice cream softened|
|8 ounces||COOL WHIP Whipped Toppingthawed|
* Or 2 packages (4-serving size) can be substituted for one package (8- serving) size.
HEAT oven to 350øF.
MIX crushed pretzels, ⅓ cup sugar and melted butter in 13x9-inch baking pan. Press firmly onto bottom of pan. Bake 10 minutes. Cool.
STIR boiling water into gelatin in large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water and lime peel. Spoon in ice cream, stirring until melted and smooth. Spoon over crust.
REFRIGERATE 3 hours or until firm. Spread whipped topping evenly over top of dessert. Cut into squares. Garnish as desired. Store leftover squares in refrigerator. Makes 15 to 18 servings.
