|4 pounds||To 5 lb. well trimmed beef|
|\N \N||Brisket, boneless|
|¼ cup||Cider Vinegar|
|½ cup||Onion, finely chopped|
|1 tablespoon||Worcestershire sauce|
|1½ teaspoon||Liquid Smoke|
|1 \N||Bay leaf, finely crushed|
Rub surface of beef with salt. Place in an ungreased rectangular baking pan 13x9x2. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over beef. Cover and bake in a 325-degree oven until tender, about 3 hours.
You can prepare this dish in the crockpot. Double the ingredients for the sauce and add about ½ cup water as well. You may need to cut up the brisket to make it fit. Also, you may want to remove to a baking dish and broil for a few minutes to get that barbecue'd texture.
