Bayou short ribs

Measure Ingredient
3 tablespoons Oil
2¼ pounds Short ribs
1 cup Flour
1 Diced onion
4 Minced garlic cloves
2 Diced celery stalks
1 Diced green pepper
1 cup Crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons Tomato paste
1 cup Water
2 teaspoons Salt
1 teaspoon Pepper
¼ teaspoon Oregano
½ teaspoon Thyme
½ teaspoon Cayenne
½ teaspoon Basil
3 Bay leaves
2 tablespoons Brown sugar

Heat oil in skillet. Coat ribs with flour & place in skillet. Add onion, garlic, celery & pepper; saute until tender. Add tomatoes, paste & water; stir. Add seasonings, bay leaves & sugar. Reduce heat & simmer 3 hours, adding more water as needed.
