Basil beef roast

3poundsBoneless chuck roast
1tablespoonVegetable oil
1tablespoonDried whole basil, crushed
1Small onion, ringed
½teaspoonGarlic powder
½teaspoonPepper
1cupHot water

Directions

Brown roast on both sides in hot oil in a large Dutch oven. Sprinkle roast with basil, garlic powder, and pepper; top with onion. Add hot water.
