8Tart apples
½cupLight brown sugar
½cupSugar
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
1cupFlour
1cupLight brown sugar
1cupOatmeal
½poundsButter
½teaspoonCinnamon
¼teaspoonNutmeg

Directions

CRUST

Core, pare and thinly slice apples. Blend crust ingredients. Arrange apples in the bottom of a 9 inch square glass baking dish. Sprinkle apples with the 2 sugars and top with a layer of the crust. Repeat layers, ending with a heavy ¼ inch crust. Press layers gently. Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350ø.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Yield: 8 servings.
