½teaspoonCream Of Tartar
¼cupWater
1Egg White
½teaspoonVanilla Extract

Directions

Boil the sugar, cream of tartar, and water together. Beat egg white until stiff. Remove sugar syrup from fire when little threads spin off a spoon, and pour over beaten egg white. Beat vigorously with sweeping strokes until cool. Add vanilla extract and spread on cooled cake.

Yield: 1 cup.
