Western ranch biscuits

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 pack Dry yeast
½ cup Warm water
2 cups Warm chicken or beef broth
½ cup Powdered milk
¼ cup Margarine or hamburger greas
¼ cup Honey
1 each Egg
¼ teaspoon Salt
2 cups All purpose flour
1 cup Wheat germ
1 cup Corn meal
2 cups Bulgur (cracked wheat)
4 cups Whole wheat flour

Directions

In small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. In large bowl, combine broth, powdered milk, maragrine/grease, honey, egg, and salt. Add yeast and mix well. Stir in flour, corn meal, wheat germ and cracked wheat. Nix well, add whole wheat flour, ½ cup at a time, mixing well. Knead in final amounts of flour by hand, and continue kneading for 5 minutes or until dough is not sticky. Roll to ½ inch, cut into shapes. Place on greased baking sheet, cover lightly and let rise 20 minutes. Bake at 300 for 1 hour. Turn off heat and let sit in oven for at least an hour.

**You can add bacon bits or cooked liver to these biscuits to give it a

more meaty western flavor**
