Weepy salad

Ingredients

1Head lettuce in small chunks
½To 1 cup mayonnaise for a thin cover
1Red onion (or white) sliced very thin
3teaspoonsGranulated sugar
cupCooked peas, fresh or frozen
cupSwiss cheese cut in strips
6Bacon slices cooked and crumbled

Directions

Place one third lettuce chunks in bottom of bowl. Spread a few spoons of mayonnaise over top. Layer one third of thin onion slices over. Sprinkle lightly with sugar, about 1 tsp. Sugar all the onion as this causes them to weep. Put on one third of peas followed by one third cheese. Repeat layers twice. Cover and chill for 2-3 hours. Before serving, sprinkle bacon over top.
