Thomas jefferson's sweet potato biscuit

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2½ cup All purpose flour
¼ cup Brown sugar
1 teaspoon Baking powder
¾ teaspoon Salt
¾ teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Ginger
½ teaspoon Allspice
½ cup Shortening
½ cup Pecans; (roughly chopped)
¾ cup Sweet potatoes
½ cup Milk

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Cut shortening into small pieces.

Combine milk and potatoes. Add to dry mixture. Add pecans and kneed until one smooth mass of dough. Roll out to ½ inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut with a 2 inch cutter. bake at 400 degrees for approximately 10-15 minutes.
