Sponge pudding and orange syrup

| 100 | grams | Plain flour |
| ½ | teaspoon | Baking powder |
| 100 | grams | Caster sugar |

| A little milk | ||
| 1 | drop | Vanilla essence |
| 50 | millilitres | White wine |
| Juice & zest of 1 orange | ||
| 2 | tablespoons | Caster sugar |
Directions
FOR THE SPONGE
1 Butter the inside of a small pudding bowl suitable for the microwave.
Sprinkle the brown sugar in to stick to the inside.
2 Mix the sponge ingredients together in a bowl to form a soft mixture with a dropping consistency.
3 Spoon the mixture into the pudding bowl and cook in the microwave for four minutes on high until cooked through. Remove and turn out onto a plate.
4 In the meantime, make the syrup. In a small pan, bring the white wine, orange juice and zest and sugar to the boil.
5 Simmer the mixture for a few minutes until it reaches a syrupy consistency. Pour over the sponge when ready to serve.
