Snack mix

1 Servings

Ingredients

QuantityIngredient
2⅔cupRice Chex®
2⅔cupWheat Chex®
2⅔cupCorn Chex®
1cupCherrios brand cereal
1cupThin pretzel sticks
cupMixed nuts
1cupCashews
1cupPecan halves
1Stick margarine
9tablespoonsWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoonGarlic powder
1teaspoonOnion powder
teaspoonLawrys seasoning salt
3tablespoonsHot sauce; optional
1teaspoonCeley salt
tablespoonChili powder

Directions

Mix all cereals, pretzels and nuts in sheet cake pan or large roasting pan.

In skillet melt butter, add remaining ingredients. Stir to mix well. Pour over cereal mix and stir this to coat all. Place in 250 degree oven, stir often for up to one hour. Remove from oven and pour onto brown paper grocery bag that has been cut open or thick layer of paper towels to cool.

When cool place in air tight container. Will keep for weeks.

NOTES : If cereal mix seems too wet...add more cereal, pretzels, etc. Be sure to have large enough cooking utensil because this gets soggy if it sits to long and although it is still good, just does not have that crunch.

I make this every year for Christmas and give as gifts in decorative containers or tins. We like ours hot, but less hot sauce can be used or it can be omitted all together. You can also add or subtract other ingredients to suit your tastes. Crispix cereal, Kix cereal, Twigs, Cheesits, any kind of small snack or cereal can be used in this recipe. Every year I do something a little different.
