Simple soup toppers

Measure Ingredient
Fresh chopped herbs such as parsley; basil, dill or chives.
Dried herbs such as tarragon or thyme.
Chopped green onions.
Crushed red pepper.
Fat-free croutons.
Fat-free shredded cheese.
Chopped jalapeno peppers.
Spicy salsa.

Add a sprinkle or dollop of color, flavor and texture to soups with one of these:

Or, for a flavorful topping, mix 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, 1½ teaspoons chopped fresh parsley, ⅛ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper.
