Yield: 10 Skewers
|1 pounds||Chicken breasts, lean pork, beef, or ham sliced thin|
|3 \N||Cloves of minced garlic|
|½ \N||Onion, minced|
|2 teaspoons||Minced cilantro|
|1 tablespoon||Brown sugar|
|\N \N||The juice of 1 lime|
|1 tablespoon||Nampla (\"fish sauce\")|
|1 tablespoon||Vegetable oil|
Thread the meet onto 12-inch bamboo skewers, placing several strips on each of the 16 skewers. Combine the garlic, onion, cilantro, brown sugar, lime juice, nampla, and vegetable oil in a bowl. Pour over the skewers and marinate for 1 hour. Heat barbecue coals until hot, or preheat a broiler.
Place the skewers on the grill or broiler rack and cook until done as desired. Serve the satays with peanut butter sauce.
Makes 10-12 skewers.
