10 Skewers

Ingredients

1poundsChicken breasts, lean pork, beef, or ham sliced thin
3Cloves of minced garlic
½Onion, minced
2teaspoonsMinced cilantro
1tablespoonBrown sugar
The juice of 1 lime
1tablespoonNampla (\"fish sauce\")
1tablespoonVegetable oil

Directions

Thread the meet onto 12-inch bamboo skewers, placing several strips on each of the 16 skewers. Combine the garlic, onion, cilantro, brown sugar, lime juice, nampla, and vegetable oil in a bowl. Pour over the skewers and marinate for 1 hour. Heat barbecue coals until hot, or preheat a broiler.

Place the skewers on the grill or broiler rack and cook until done as desired. Serve the satays with peanut butter sauce.

Makes 10-12 skewers.
